it's the first day of 2009. yestersay, the youths from my church were planning to come to my house to countdown. however, the preacher from my church found out bout this and actually forced us to cancel the party and go to church. ermm... what is this?!?! ( i mean yeah, there is this countdown thingy in church and ppl were expected to go, but the youths weren't informed, and by the tym the youths knew bout it, this party was already planned.) when the preacher found out, he told me to ask them to postpone the party and come to church. then, at the very last minute, he sms-ed all the youths to come to church, making it COMPULSORY to go to church.

worse still, it wasn't a countdown party. it's more like a prayer meeting and thanksgiving to our God for the year 2008. by 12 midnight, this mentor was still telling ppl bout her thanksgiving and most of us had already switched off. the funniest part was that my friend's father was so bored that he actually started counting down on his own ( not the accurate timing though, it was random and to remind her bout the countdown).

then, some person went to take the mic away from her and asked everybody "what is the time now??" then everybody started going like "10!9!8!7!6!5!4!3!2!1! happy new year!!" the next thing i knew, everybody was going around shaking hands with each other going happy new year!! the worst thing was the countdown was just random. we then found out that it was one minute earlier.. this pretty much made the youths even more unhappy with the situation.

anyway, i think the mentor just wanted to let her story be known to everybody. she went to take the mic and started to talk again like nothing had happened. oh well.

when the 'countdown' thingy in church ended, it was already like 1 am in the morning. however, the youths were not happy with the 'countdown' and therefore they decided to come over to my house in the end. they stayed overnight and in the morning some of them went for a swim. which was a good thing cuz this lightened our mood and in the end we weren't as disappointed.
